HOW TO CORRECTLY MEASURE YOUR CHILD'S FOOT AND CHOOSE THE RIGHT SHOE SIZE

To properly choose the size to the length of the foot, add 5-7 mm to get the required length of the insole (inner length of the shoe). Each time before buying shoes for a child, in order to properly choose the size of the shoe, you need to precisely determine the size of the foot.

Attention! The space inside the shoe should not be more than 1 cm.

NOTE - You should measure the length of both feet, sometimes one foot is longer than the other.

The easiest way to accurately measure child's feet is by placing the child's foot on a piece of paper and outlining the circumforance of the feet.

- trace both feet of the child, and then measure the distance (in cm) between the two extreme points of the template of the longer foot (draw by holding the pen vertically).

The size of the footwear can vary depending on the manufacturer

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU MEASURE?

Children's feet can grow a full size in as little as two to three months, especially between ages 2 and 5. We recommend measuring every 8–10 weeks for younger children, and every season for school-age kids — even if their current shoes still look fine.

SIGNS YOUR CHILD HAS OUTGROWN THEIR SHOES

Toes pressing against the front, redness or marks on the foot after wearing, your child walking differently to avoid discomfort, or asking to take their shoes off as soon as they're home — any of these mean it's time to re-measure, not just resize.

WHY WE MEASURE BOTH FEET, EVERY TIME

Feet are rarely perfectly symmetrical — one is often slightly longer or wider than the other. We always fit to the larger foot, with enough room to grow without leaving so much room that the shoe stops supporting it properly.

Charts are a helpful starting point, but every brand fits a little differently — a EU 28 in one brand can feel different from a EU 28 in another. If you're ever unsure, bring your child into our Dublin 15 shop and we'll measure and fit them properly, free of charge.
